The Fluke 117 it is a quality multimeter that has all the basic functionality for taking
measurements from an electronic loop. That you might need either in industry as a technician or in a residential or commercial environment as an electrician.
Perfect for testing a whole host of equipment with voltages up to 600V between conductor and earth.
Fluke gives you quality you can trust and rely on. As an instrument technician I mainly use the Fluke 789 as I require current generation as an option, including loop power. However for general electrical use where loop current injection is not required the Fluke 117 wins hands down on a cost basis.
Some of the main features of the fluke 117
VoltAlert technology for non-contact voltage detection
AutoVolt automatic ac/dc voltage selection
LoZ: Helps prevent false readings due to ghost voltage
Large white LED backlight to work in poorly lit areas
True-rms for accurate measurements on non-linear loads
Measures 10 A (20 A overload for 30 seconds)
Resistance, continuity, frequency and capacitance
Min/Max/Average to record signal fluctuations
Compatible with optional magnetic hanger (ToolPak) for hands free operation
CAT III 600 V safety rate
